Printing

Printing Chemicals cover dispersing, penetration, fixation and loop accelerators, kerosene-substitute pigment thickeners, binders, formaldehyde-free paste emulsifier-fixers, and wash-off or reduction-clear for printed grounds. A print fails on flush, poor strike-through, harsh handle, solvent odour, formaldehyde on the garment, or stained whites after wash-off.

State print type (pigment, reactive, disperse), method (flat, rotary, continuous) and limits on kerosene and formaldehyde. Loop accelerators help disperse-print yield; they are not pigment binders. Fibre-specific wash-off matters: nylon, wool and silk grounds are not a cotton soaper job.

Silicone softeners

Silicone Softner products are amino-silicone bases and micro, semi-micro, macro and cationic-silicone emulsions. Micro-emulsions penetrate; macro-emulsions sit on the surface. Jets need shear-stable grades or the bath spots. Whites need non-yellowing types trialled on the optical brightener. HISIL-LXL is an amino-silicone base for mills that emulsify themselves; ready emulsions are the default for laundries without that plant.

Silicone is a finish, applied after residual peroxide or enzyme is cleared. Overdose can hurt wet crock and sewability; pair with polyethylene emulsion or wax when needle cutting appears.

Specification checklist

Put the application, the substrate, temperature, pH and any APEO or formaldehyde limit on the first enquiry. INCI or chemical names, cloud point, hydroxyl value, saponification value and colour are the numbers Dyna Glycols can lock on a TDS for this Textiles topic. A warehouse nickname is not a specification.

Samples and documents

Request a laboratory sample of the related Textiles grade together with the current SDS and TDS. The certificate of analysis is issued for the shipping lot after manufacture at Kandla SEZ. Once the trial is approved, freeze the identity tests so later drums of this chemistry match the article you evaluated.

How to brief Textile printing chemicals and silicone softeners

Use this article as a buying brief, not as a substitute for a TDS. Name the fibre, hide, oil phase or process step, the temperature and pH, and any limit on APEO or formaldehyde. Dyna Glycols will map that onto a catalogue grade in the Textiles range or quote a custom batch. INCI names, chemical names, cloud point, hydroxyl value and saponification value are more useful than a warehouse nickname.

If you already run a plant recipe, send the identity tests your receiving laboratory uses. Matching those numbers on a first sample of the chemistry behind “Textile printing chemicals and silicone softeners” is faster than rewriting the formula around a different family.
