Auxiliaries, not plating salts
The Metal and Electroplating Chemicals industry page covers surfactant and inhibitor tools used around plating and metal finishing: wetting in salted cleaners, phosphate-ester inhibition, amine ethoxylate CI bases and PEG carriers. Dyna Glycols does not manufacture commodity chrome, nickel or copper plating salts as a catalogue line. Ordering “electroplating chemicals” without naming wetter, cleaner or inhibitor is ambiguous.
pH, metal ion load and whether the bath is cathodic cleaner, soak cleaner or post-dip decide the anion and EO moles.
Wetting through electrolyte
High-electrolyte cleaners salt out many high-mole non-ionics. 2-Ethylhexyl sulphate and low-mole alcohol ethoxylates wet through salt that would haze a laundry ethoxylate. Sulfosuccinates flash-wet at low dose in some industrial cleaners; watch hydrolytic pH limits. Share temperature, free alkalinity and foam limit — spray cleaners punish foam.
Cloud point measured in distilled water is a poor predictor. Quote the real cleaner matrix with the sample request.
Inhibitors and carriers
Phosphate Esters inhibit and emulsify in alkaline metal cleaners and metalworking-adjacent baths. Fatty Amine Ethoxylates such as tallow amine 10-mole grades are film-forming corrosion-inhibitor bases. Polyethylene-glycol appears as a soluble carrier in some finishing baths — name the molecular weight.
Yellow-metal safety and aluminium compatibility are separate constraints from ferrous inhibition. Write the metallurgy list.
How to specify
Name soak versus spray versus electrolytic cleaner, bath chemistry, temperature, pH, foam limit, metallurgy and whether the need is wetting, hydrotroping or corrosion inhibition. Dyna Glycols will sample against that metal-finishing window and issue documents against the named surfactant or inhibitor intermediate.
Specification checklist
Put the application, the substrate, temperature, pH and any APEO or formaldehyde limit on the first enquiry. INCI or chemical names, cloud point, hydroxyl value, saponification value and colour are the numbers Dyna Glycols can lock on a TDS for this Electroplating topic. A warehouse nickname is not a specification.
Samples and documents
Request a laboratory sample of the related Electroplating grade together with the current SDS and TDS. The certificate of analysis is issued for the shipping lot after manufacture at Kandla SEZ. Once the trial is approved, freeze the identity tests so later drums of this chemistry match the article you evaluated.
