The research centre operates 24/7. Equipped with current analytical instruments, its primary work is development of non-ionic, cationic, anionic and amphoteric surfactants, with a strong focus on renewable feedstocks.
Process experience
In addition to alkoxylation (EO/PO) and copolymerisation of functionalised polyalkylene glycols, the team has in-depth experience in esterification, alkylation, sulfonation, phosphation, polymerisation and amidification.
From laboratory to plant trials
Pilot reactors for alkoxylation allow products to move from development into scale-up for customer trials. The analytical laboratory includes gas chromatography, infrared and ultraviolet spectrophotometers, Karl Fischer titration, refractometry and colorimetry. Equipment is upgraded as the business grows.
Application support
Besides new-product development, the facility works as an applications centre for textile, coatings, ink, paint and HI&I markets.
