Water treatment at Dyna Glycols is a duty map, not a separate detergent factory. Cooling circuits, boiler make-up, process water, mill water and produced water are served with the same chemistries already used as scale preventives, sequestering and demineralising aids, film-forming amine and imidazoline corrosion-inhibitor bases, carbamate biocides for slime and algae, phosphate-ester hydrotropes and low-foam EO/PO.
What water treatment chemicals are
Water treatment at Dyna Glycols is a duty map, not a separate detergent factory. Cooling circuits, boiler make-up, process water, mill water and produced water are served with the same chemistries already used as scale preventives, sequestering and demineralising aids, film-forming amine and imidazoline corrosion-inhibitor bases, carbamate biocides for slime and algae, phosphate-ester hydrotropes and low-foam EO/PO process aids.
Ordering “a water-treatment surfactant” without the circuit, the duty and the metallurgy is how a fatty alcohol wetter ends up in a biocide brief. Dyna Glycols does not supply a branded full treatment programme (oxygen scavenger packages, finished boiler compounds or proprietary cooling packs) unless a named blend is separately agreed. This page routes the enquiry to the correct family.
How Dyna Glycols manufactures water treatment chemicals
Amido imidazolines and fatty amine ethoxylates are manufactured on the amidification and alkoxylation plants used for oilfield and metal inhibitor bases, then salted by the customer or blender when a water-soluble scale or corrosion package is required. Textile-style demineralisers with iron chelation are finished for bleach and dye baths. Carbamate biocides (SDMDC, KDMDC, nabam-type) are finished for mill and industrial process water as listed on sugar, paper and agro pages.
Phosphate esters and EO/PO copolymers are run on the same phosphation and alkoxylation capacity for hydrotroping and foam control. They are process aids inside a water programme, not a complete treatment recipe.
Typical grades in this range
Choose the duty first. Typical catalogue starting points sit on the related industry and chemistry pages below.
- Scale preventives / sequestering: amido-imidazoline salts (oilfield and metal pages); textile demineralisers with Fe++ chelation; sugar-process descaling aids
- Corrosion inhibitors: tallow amine / diamine ~10 EO film-forming bases; 70% amido-imidazoline concentrates; phosphate esters in alkaline cleaners
- Biocides / slime / algae: SDMDC, KDMDC and nabam-type carbamates (sugar, paper, agro listings)
- Hydrotropes and builders: phosphate esters that keep silicate and carbonate dissolved in cleaners
- Foam control: EO/PO low-foam copolymers and non-silicone defoamers where air is entrained
Where water treatment chemicals are used
Cooling towers and process cooling need hardness control, film-forming inhibition and often microbiological control. Boiler make-up and related hot systems need ion control and corrosion inhibition matched to metallurgy and temperature — not a detergent ethoxylate. Mill water in sugar and paper plants already uses the carbamate and descaling tools listed on those industry pages.
Industrial wash that looks like “water treatment” is often hard-water detergency: non-ionic ethoxylates tolerate electrolytes that precipitate soaps. Keep cleaning RFQs separate from scale, corrosion and slime RFQs.
How to specify water treatment chemicals
Name the circuit (cooling, boiler, process, mill, produced water), the duty (scale, corrosion, slime/algae, wetting, foam), metallurgy, temperature, pH, hardness and whether H2S, CO2 or dissolved oxygen is present. Say whether the product must be oil-soluble or water-soluble.
If you already run an imidazoline salt, a carbamate or a film-forming amine, attach the TDS identity tests. Dyna Glycols samples the named chemistry, not an unlisted finished programme pack.
Quality, documents and supply
Lots are released against the identity tests on the chemistry TDS (active, moles, pH, appearance). SDS and COA follow verification. Programme performance — coupons, ATP, scale coupons — remains a customer or water-treatment contractor test in the real circuit.
Carbamates and concentrated amines are classified materials. Follow the SDS for handling, PPE and transport. Confirm local biocide rules before dosing cooling systems.
Practical notes on water treatment chemicals
Related pages: sugar chemicals, paper chemicals, refinery and oilfield chemicals, metal and electroplating chemicals, phosphate esters, fatty amine ethoxylates. Specification articles cover water-treatment process aids, boiler and cooling programmes, scale preventives, carbamate fungicides/algicides and corrosion inhibitors.
A carbamate biocide is not a scale inhibitor. A film-forming amine is not a sequester. A phosphate-ester hydrotrope is not a cooling-tower programme.
Legionella and local biocide regulations are the customer’s compliance responsibility. Dyna Glycols supplies the named chemistry with SDS/TDS/COA.
Oxygen scavengers, passivation acids and proprietary polymer packages are outside the listed set unless separately agreed. Say so on the enquiry rather than stretching a surfactant brief.
English is the source language for circuit and duty claims. Machine translation is not a specification.
Once a trial lot is approved, freeze active, moles or %EO and the salt form so later drums match the evaluation.
Ordering and evaluating water treatment chemicals
Dyna Glycols supports water treatment chemicals with laboratory samples, current SDS, TDS and COA from the Kandla SEZ manufacturing network. Tell us the intended application, the substrate, the required moles or molecular weight, and any limits on colour, odour, cloud point, hydroxyl value, pH or residual feedstock. A matching catalogue grade of water treatment chemicals in the Water Treatment Chemicals family can then be confirmed, or a custom batch can be planned on the ethoxylation, esterification or related plant.
When you evaluate water treatment chemicals, send the competitor grade if one exists, the bath or emulsion conditions, and the tests your receiving laboratory will run. Pack options for water treatment chemicals typically include drums, IBCs and bulk where the viscosity and melting point of the selected grade allow safe handling from the Water Treatment Chemicals manufacturing line.
A first order of water treatment chemicals is easier when the purchase specification lists identity tests, not only a local trade name. Hydroxyl value, saponification value, acid value, cloud point, pH, water, colour and appearance are the numbers the Kandla QA laboratory can lock. If your QC uses a different solvent or a different cloud-point electrolyte for water treatment chemicals, write that method on the order so the COA speaks the same language.
Custom lots of water treatment chemicals are quoted after the hydrophobe or acid/alcohol pair, the target analytical window, the annual volume and the pack. Pilot batches are available when a catalogue point in the Water Treatment Chemicals range is close but not exact. Once a trial lot is approved, that TDS should be frozen so the tenth delivery of water treatment chemicals matches the first approved drum.
Storage of water treatment chemicals should follow the SDS: keep containers closed, protect hygroscopic grades from moisture, and warm high-melt or high-mole grades until uniform before sampling. FIFO rotation protects colour and odour. If a drum of water treatment chemicals has frozen or separated in transit, homogenise it before charging a batch; do not decant only the liquid layer.
