Emulsion first, solubiliser second
Personal Care Chemicals draw on glyceryl stearate, ceteareth-type alcohol ethoxylates, PEG esters, sorbitan ester / polysorbate pairs, polyglycerol esters for PEG-free claims, glycol distearate pearlising waxes, and alkyl benzoate emollients for sun filters. A useful brief includes the oil phase, required skin feel, processing temperature, and whether the ester is a primary emollient or a co-emulsifier.
Pharma Chemicals uses overlap on PEG 400 as a solvent, higher PEG as ointment bases, and polysorbate 80 or 20 types as solubilisers. If a pharmacopoeia-style test list applies, attach it. Industrial PEG and a tighter documentation grade are not the same release package.
Fragrance and perfume oils
Perfumery Chemicals typically need hydrophilic solubilisers: hydrogenated castor oil ethoxylates, polysorbate 20 or 80 types, and high-HLB PEG esters. Share the oil to be solubilised and the clarity temperature. Clouding often means HLB or use level is wrong, not that the lot failed. Alkyl benzoates can also fix fragrance in an oil phase; they do not replace a water-phase solubiliser.
