What polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals are
This family covers auxiliaries for synthetics and protein fibres: polyester (including HTHP yarn and fabric), wool, silk, nylon, acrylic and worsted. Pretreatment, sequestering, dyeing (levelling, dispersing, carriers, buffers, oligomer control), lubricants, reduction clearing, stain removal, finishing, blooming, silk degumming and acrylic retarders are all in the Dyna textile offering. The chemistry is different from cotton reactives: disperse dyes, acid dyes, metal-complex dyes and cationic dyes each need their own leveller and after-clear.
Polyester problems are unlevel disperse dyeing, oligomer, migration and residual oil from knitting. Wool and silk problems are felting, harsh degumming and unlevel acid dyes. Nylon needs anionic fixation and acid-dye level. Acrylic/worsted needs retarders so cationic dyes do not rush the fibre. One mill often runs polyester-cotton; two-in-one levellers and separate cotton auxiliaries must be planned together.
How Dyna Glycols manufactures polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals
Scourers stable at high temperature, crypto-anionic kier detergents, polyester levellers/dispersants, carriers, buffers, reduction-clear products and antistatic lubricants are manufactured to the application laboratory’s HTHP and acid-dye tests.
Silicone and cationic finishes for synthetics are produced as flakes, PE-wax/silicone non-yellowing blends, and high-active amino-silicone (including 70% amino silicon for silk/nylon finish).
Typical grades in this range
Select fibre and stage. Do not use a cotton reactive soaper as a polyester reduction clear.
- Pretreatment: high-temperature size removal; low-foam scour; crypto-anionic kier detergent; anionic/nonionic scour-desize; stain-removing scour; alkali-stable wetter for polyester; penetrating polyester scour
- Sequester: demineraliser/pH hold; sequester for synthetics
- Polyester dye: leveller/dispersant (including patchy/burred); economical hard-water-stable leveller; PES/cotton two-in-one; sequester+disperse+level+buffer; HTHP carrier; buffer acids; CD-PET leveller; anti-migration oligomer-control dispersant; shine leveller
- Dye-bath polymer lubricants; post-dye antistatic lubricants (nonionic paste, cationic liquid, acrylics)
- Reduction clear / soaping; caustic-free all-in-one reduction clear; stain removers
- Finish: easy-feel cationic flakes; polymeric cationic bulk; nil-foam non-yellowing cationic with PE-wax and silicone; special PES cationic
- Blooming agent for black finished fabrics
- Silk/nylon: degumming enzymes and chemicals; formic and other acid substitutes; mild alkali buffer; acid-dye leveller; vegetable-oil scroop; anionic dye-fixer; cationic softener; 70% amino silicone; antistat-lubricant
- Worsted/acrylic: acid and 1:1 metal-complex levellers; acrylic dye retarders
Where polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals are used
Polyester yarn HTHP: oligomer-control dispersant, leveller, buffer, lubricant; then reduction clear (caustic-free all-in-one where the mill wants to drop a caustic step). Fabric jets: low-foam scour, alkali-stable wetter, then the same dye set with anti-migration if the shade is patchy.
Polyester-cotton: two-in-one leveller plus the cotton pretreatment/dye products from the cotton family. Do not assume one bath chemistry covers both fibres without a trial.
Silk: degum and acid substitutes instead of harsh mineral acid; acid-dye leveller; scroop with vegetable-oil agent; amino-silicone finish. Nylon: acid-dye leveller and anionic fixer. Wool/worsted: acid and metal-complex levellers. Acrylic: cationic dye retarders and antistatic lubricant.
How to specify polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals
Name fibre, blend, machine (HTHP package, jet, jig, hank), dye class, and whether oligomer, barré or back-staining of disperse is the complaint. For silk, state degum method. For acrylic, give dye type (cationic).
Share temperature, pH and any carrier ban. Some markets restrict chlorinated carriers; ask for an HTHP-compatible diffusion accelerator instead.
Quality, documents and supply
Release is against each auxiliary’s TDS. SDS and COA follow verification. Polyester approval is a dyed package or piece with levelling, oligomer rating and fastness after the specified clear.
Store as labelled. Reduction-clear products and acids need segregation. Silicone 70% is a concentrate; dilution instructions belong in the mill SOP.
Practical notes on polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals
Oligomer on polyester yarn is a dispersant and process-temperature problem. A “stronger leveller” will not replace oligomer control. Specify the oligomer-control dispersing agent when white powder appears on winding.
CD-PET (cationic-dyeable polyester) needs its own leveller. Using a standard disperse leveller on CD-PET is a common shade crash.
Caustic-free all-in-one reduction clear is for mills that want to drop a separate caustic addition. Confirm residual disperse and pH on the actual shade, especially navies and blacks.
Blooming agents for black finish are a surface-optics product. They are not a dye. Use after the colour is established.
Wool levelling for 1:1 metal-complex is not the same product as a nylon acid-dye leveller even if both say “acid dye”. Name the fibre and the dye range.
Dyna Glycols can sample a polyester HTHP set (scour, leveller, oligomer dispersant, buffer, reduction clear, antistat) and a silk/nylon set separately so the trials stay clean.
Ordering and evaluating polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals
Dyna Glycols supports polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals with laboratory samples, current SDS, TDS and COA from the Kandla SEZ manufacturing network. Tell us the intended application, the substrate, the required moles or molecular weight, and any limits on colour, odour, cloud point, hydroxyl value, pH or residual feedstock. A matching catalogue grade of polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals in the Textile Chemicals family can then be confirmed, or a custom batch can be planned on the ethoxylation, esterification or related plant.
When you evaluate polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals, send the competitor grade if one exists, the bath or emulsion conditions, and the tests your receiving laboratory will run. Pack options for polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals typically include drums, IBCs and bulk where the viscosity and melting point of the selected grade allow safe handling from the Textile Chemicals manufacturing line.
A first order of polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals is easier when the purchase specification lists identity tests, not only a local trade name. Hydroxyl value, saponification value, acid value, cloud point, pH, water, colour and appearance are the numbers the Kandla QA laboratory can lock. If your QC uses a different solvent or a different cloud-point electrolyte for polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals, write that method on the order so the COA speaks the same language.
Custom lots of polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals are quoted after the hydrophobe or acid/alcohol pair, the target analytical window, the annual volume and the pack. Pilot batches are available when a catalogue point in the Textile Chemicals range is close but not exact. Once a trial lot is approved, that TDS should be frozen so the tenth delivery of polyester, wool, silk, nylon and worsted processing chemicals matches the first approved drum.
