Cotton knit and woven processing chemicals cover the auxiliaries from grey fabric through desize, scour, bleach, mercerise-related neutralization, dyeing and finishing on cotton and cotton-rich knits, wovens, terry and garments.
What cotton knit and woven processing chemicals are
Cotton knit and woven processing chemicals cover the auxiliaries from grey fabric through desize, scour, bleach, mercerise-related neutralization, dyeing and finishing on cotton and cotton-rich knits, wovens, terry and garments. Dyna Glycols manufactures APEO-free wetters and scourers (including NP-9.5 substitutes), low-foam jet products, sequesterants, peroxide bleach companions, dye-bath conditioners, non-formaldehyde dye fixers, and a full softener set from cationic flakes to amino-silicone micro-emulsions.
Cotton processing fails on residual size, residual peroxide, crease marks, unlevel dye, poor wet fastness or a yellowed white. The catalogue is therefore a process map, not a single surfactant. Pretreatment products are specified as enzyme desize, low-foam APEO-free scour, demineraliser with iron chelation, anticrease, peroxide stabilizer and killer, and core-alkali neutralizer. Dye-house products cover levelling, soaping, dye-fix and anti-migration. Finish products cover cationic, silicone and PE/wax handles.
How Dyna Glycols manufactures cotton knit and woven processing chemicals
Ethoxylate wetters and scourers are made on the same alkoxylation plant as the chemistry catalogue, then formulated as APEO-free, low-foam grades for jets, soft-flow and continuous pretreatment (CP) machines. Enzyme desizers, sequesterants, peroxide chemicals and softeners are manufactured or blended to the application laboratory’s performance tests.
A dedicated textile application laboratory checks wetting, foam, rewetting, peroxide residual, wash-off and handle on knit and woven so that a named auxiliary can be matched to machine type, not only to a bottle specification.
Typical grades in this range
Pick the process step and the machine (jet, jigger, CP, cheese, garment). The types below are the usual Dyna offering; custom APEO-free moles are available.
- Enzyme desize; low-foam APEO-free scour/desize; NP-9.5 substitute scour/wetting
- Low-foam scour/wetting for batch and CP; anionic detergent for batch/CP; jet/soft-flow pourable low-foam scour
- Demineraliser (high Fe++ chelation); polymer anticrease; optical brightener; blue toner; colour-protection powder
- Organic peroxide stabilizer (liquid); peroxide killer; enzyme peroxide killer; core-alkali neutralizer
- Special scour to cut caustic; anionic detergent for Lycra; de-aerating penetrant for cheese and heavy garment
- Anionic lubricant/penetrant for heavy cotton, garment, jeans, polyester yarn; dye-bath conditioner (sequester + disperse)
- Dye-bath lubricant/anticrease; levelling agent; non-foaming soaper; non-formaldehyde dye-fixer; anti-migration
- Anionic lubricant for terry, heavy garment, denim; anionic wetter for Lycra and turquoise
- Cationic softener flakes (cold-water); AEEA-free cationic flakes; non-yellowing easy-feel cationic
- Amino micro-silicone (bounce); semi-micro amino-silicone for white; cata-silicone for jet smoothness; special macro-silicone
- DMDHU crease-resist resin; APEO-free PE emulsion; modified wax emulsion (strength, knitability, lower friction)
Where cotton knit and woven processing chemicals are used
Knit jets and soft-flow: low-foam APEO-free scour, anticrease, demineraliser, then peroxide bleach with stabilizer and a killer before dye. Cheese and heavy garment need a de-aerator with penetration so liquor reaches the package core.
Woven and CP: low-foam anionic or nonionic scour/wetting stable on the range, caustic-reduction auxiliaries, core-alkali neutralization after mercerise or strong alkali, then optical brightener and toner for whites.
Dyeing: conditioner, leveller, lubricant; after reactive dyeing a non-foam soaper and non-formaldehyde fixer. Finish: choose non-yellowing cationic for whites, amino-silicone for bounce, PE/wax for sewability and knitability. Lycra and turquoise need the dedicated anionic wetter/detergent called out in the list.
How to specify cotton knit and woven processing chemicals
Name fibre (100% cotton, CVC, Lycra blend), construction (knit, woven, terry, cheese, garment), machine, and APEO/formaldehyde limits. For scour, give foam limit and whether NP-9.5 is being replaced.
For bleach, give peroxide and caustic levels and whether an enzyme killer is required. For finish, state white vs dyed, inner vs surface softness, and yellowing limit.
Quality, documents and supply
Auxiliaries are released against the TDS for that type: appearance, pH, solids, foam and ionic character as applicable. SDS and COA follow verification. Application tests in the Dyna textile lab or the mill lab are the real approval.
Store as the SDS states. Enzyme products are temperature-sensitive. Silicone emulsions must not freeze. Cationic flakes are dissolved as hot- or cold-water grades indicate — do not treat them as interchangeable.
Practical notes on cotton knit and woven processing chemicals
APEO-free NP-9.5 substitutes are fatty alcohol ethoxylate wetters. Match wetting speed and cloud point on the actual alkali and temperature of the scour, not only Draves wetting in distilled water.
Low foam is mandatory on jets. A scour that works on a jigger may flood a jet. Always state the machine.
Residual peroxide and residual alkali are the two silent causes of unlevel reactive dyeing. Specify both a killer and a core-alkali neutralizer when the mill has shade-repeat problems.
Non-formaldehyde dye-fixers protect wet fastness of reactives without adding formaldehyde on the garment. Dose after soaping, at the pH the TDS states.
AEEA-free cationic flakes are specified when that residual is restricted. Hot-water vs cold-water solubility changes dissolution practice in the colour kitchen.
Dyna Glycols can map a full cotton route (desize–scour–bleach–dye–fix–soft) as one sample set so the mill is not mixing three suppliers’ foam and ionic clashes.
Ordering and evaluating cotton knit and woven processing chemicals
Dyna Glycols supports cotton knit and woven processing chemicals with laboratory samples, current SDS, TDS and COA from the Kandla SEZ manufacturing network. Tell us the intended application, the substrate, the required moles or molecular weight, and any limits on colour, odour, cloud point, hydroxyl value, pH or residual feedstock. A matching catalogue grade of cotton knit and woven processing chemicals in the Textile Chemicals family can then be confirmed, or a custom batch can be planned on the ethoxylation, esterification or related plant.
When you evaluate cotton knit and woven processing chemicals, send the competitor grade if one exists, the bath or emulsion conditions, and the tests your receiving laboratory will run. Pack options for cotton knit and woven processing chemicals typically include drums, IBCs and bulk where the viscosity and melting point of the selected grade allow safe handling from the Textile Chemicals manufacturing line.
A first order of cotton knit and woven processing chemicals is easier when the purchase specification lists identity tests, not only a local trade name. Hydroxyl value, saponification value, acid value, cloud point, pH, water, colour and appearance are the numbers the Kandla QA laboratory can lock. If your QC uses a different solvent or a different cloud-point electrolyte for cotton knit and woven processing chemicals, write that method on the order so the COA speaks the same language.
