Close but not exact is a normal brief
Most industrial formulae already name a mole — lauryl 7, tridecyl 8, ceteareth-20, NP-9.5, castor 36, PEG 400. When the catalogue point is close but the cloud point, hydroxyl value or handling is wrong, Dyna Glycols manufactures the intermediate mole on the same stainless-steel alkoxylation plant. Custom work is not a different chemistry. It is the same reaction with the analytical window written by the customer instead of by the catalogue card.
Others Ethoxylates covers hydrophobes that are not the main fatty alcohol, alkyl phenol, fatty acid, fatty amine or triglyceride families. Pilot alkoxylation reactors (before the main 3,000–25,000 kg vessels) exist so a development grade can be trialled without committing the large reactor. Dyna Glycols will not reverse-engineer a patented molecule or a secret blend beyond what is disclosed. The reaction is run on the hydrophobe you name or supply.
What the plant needs on day one
Name the starter (alcohol cut, phenol, acid, amine, oil, polyol), the oxide (EO, PO or both), moles or a cloud-point / molecular-weight / hydroxyl-value target, and whether the grade will later be sulphated or phosphated. Residual moisture and catalyst traces have to sit inside that second-process window. Add colour, odour, water, pH, APEO policy and the tests your receiving QC laboratory will actually run — including the cloud-point electrolyte if it is not distilled water.
For esters, name the acid–alcohol pair and mono versus di versus tri ratio, not “an ester like the last drum”. For EO/PO copolymers, name block order, EO percentage and whether the type is reverse-block. A third-party grade code is useful as a hint; the analytical window is what will be manufactured.
From sample to frozen TDS
A laboratory sample ships with SDS and TDS. COA follows the production lot once a batch is allocated at Kandla SEZ. Do not hold the application test until a COA exists: typical properties are what the plant will manufacture to. When the trial succeeds, freeze hydroxyl value, cloud point method, colour, water and any extra identity tests on the purchase specification so the tenth delivery matches the first approved drum.
Packaging (drum, IBC, bulk), annual volume and whether a confidential hydrophobe needs a secrecy agreement belong on the quote request. Narrow versus conventional mole distribution can be discussed for demanding emulsification. That choice affects price and lead time; it should be explicit, not assumed. For campaign volume and secrecy framing, see toll manufacturing; for naming a new architecture from scratch, see custom synthesis of ethoxylates and esters.
How to request
Use the sample form with company name, work email, application and destination. Attach the current TDS or the identity tests. If the hydrophobe is customer-supplied, say so. Dyna Glycols maps that onto a catalogue mole or a custom batch and issues the matching SDS and TDS with the sample.
Specification checklist
Put the application, the substrate, temperature, pH and any APEO or formaldehyde limit on the first enquiry. INCI or chemical names, cloud point, hydroxyl value, saponification value and colour are the numbers Dyna Glycols can lock on a TDS for this Custom manufacture topic. A warehouse nickname is not a specification.
Samples and documents
Request a laboratory sample of the related Custom manufacture grade together with the current SDS and TDS. The certificate of analysis is issued for the shipping lot after manufacture at Kandla SEZ. Once the trial is approved, freeze the identity tests so later drums of this chemistry match the article you evaluated.
