Cleaning agents are surfactant systems
An industrial cleaning agent wets the soil, emulsifies or disperses oil and grease, and rinses without leaving a film that hurts the next process step. At Dyna Glycols that job is built from non-ionic ethoxylates, anionics, sulfosuccinates, phosphate-ester hydrotropes and low-foam EO/PO grades — the same surfactant toolkit used across textile scour, metal spray wash and I&I detergency. There is no separate “cleaner molecule” plant; the brief must name soil and machine.
Household foam vanity and industrial jet wash are opposite foam briefs. Write whether the washer is immersion, spray, ultrasonic, CIP or felt wash so a high-foam ether sulphate is not offered into a pump-limited line.
Non-ionics, anionics and hydrotropes
Fatty Alcohol Ethoxylates are the APEO-free workhorse for oily soil on fibre and hard surfaces. Cloud point in the real alkaline liquor decides the mole. Sulphates and Sulfonates and Sulfosuccinates add detergency and foam where the formula allows; 2-ethylhexyl sulphate wets through high electrolyte where a high-mole non-ionic salts out. Phosphate Esters hydrotrope builders and inhibit corrosion in alkaline metal cleaners.
EO/PO Block Co-Polymers cover low-foam rinse and wash where air entrainment would starve a pump. Reverse-block types behave differently from conventional blocks — copy the architecture from the current TDS, not a bottle code.
Metal, textile and paper cleaning
Metal and Electroplating Chemicals cleaners sit in salted, often alkaline baths before plate. Metal ion compatibility and pH decide the anion class. Textile scour and soaping are cleaning agents with fibre constraints — residual alkali, residual oil and foam in jets. Paper felt detergents and de-ink wash liquors are mill cleaning duties with their own brightness and fibre limits; do not reuse a metal degreaser there without a trial.
Hard water precipitates soap. Non-ionic ethoxylates and selected ether sulphates tolerate electrolytes that crash fatty-acid soaps. Say hardness and builder package on the enquiry.
How to specify a cleaning agent
Name the soil (mineral oil, cutting oil, grease, size, ink), the substrate, temperature, pH, water hardness, foam limit and machine type. State APEO policy and whether the cleaner must also inhibit corrosion. Dyna Glycols will sample an alcohol ethoxylate, a sulphate or sulfosuccinate, a phosphate ester or a low-foam EO/PO grade against that wash window.
Specification checklist
Put the application, the substrate, temperature, pH and any APEO or formaldehyde limit on the first enquiry. Samples and documents
Request a laboratory sample of the related Cleaning agents grade together with the current SDS and TDS. The certificate of analysis is issued for the shipping lot after manufacture at Kandla SEZ.
