A separate unit, a separate specification

Carbamation here is the route to dithiocarbamate biocides — not a nickname for amidification, and not a way to “preserve” an ethoxylate drum. Ordering a carbamate biocide as if it were a wetting agent sends the sample to the wrong plant.
The research and manufacturing network spans those units so a sugar mill, a paper machine or an agro pack can source the biocide next to the surfactants used in the same factory, with SDS, TDS and lot COA against the named carbamate, not against a historic warehouse code.
What the catalogue actually lists
Sugar Chemicals list carbamate-based biocides together with de-scaling and de-colouring agents. Named actives include sodium dimethyl dithiocarbamate (SDMDC), potassium dimethyl dithiocarbamate (KDMDC) and ethylene bis-dithiocarbamate (nabam-type) grades, typically described at around 40% active. Those three biocides are not interchangeable with each other, and none of them is a de-scaling drum. Share the process step (evaporation, pan, molasses, mill water) and the organism problem.
Paper Chemicals use products based on carbamates as anti-microbial agents for slime-forming bacteria, algae and fungi in pulp and paper mill systems. Felt-cleaning detergents on the same page are blends of nonionic surfactants and amine derivatives — a different sample. Agro Chemicals may use carbamate biocides as a preservation line, not as the emulsifier for an EC. Keep biocide and emulsifier identities separate on the purchase order.
How carbamation differs from amidification
Amidification condenses a fatty acid with an alkanolamine to make foam boosters and viscosity builders for wash products. Carbamation, in this catalogue, produces dithiocarbamate salts used to control microbes in process water. The analytical window is active matter, pH, colour and the named cation (sodium, potassium) or the ethylene-bis structure — not hydroxyl value or cloud point. Do not send a shampoo amide TDS as the target for a mill biocide.
Handling, SDS language and dose advice follow the biocidal use. Destination market and whether the product goes into process water or a packed agro formula belong on the document request so the correct SDS is issued. Laboratory samples should be evaluated in the mill water or soak, not in a detergent foam test.
How to specify a carbamation
Name SDMDC, KDMDC or nabam-type chemistry if the mill already uses one, the required active matter, the process water pH and temperature, and the spoil symptom (slime, putrefaction, algal growth). State packaging and whether a sugar, paper or agro SDS is required. Once a trial lot is approved, freeze active matter and identity tests so later deliveries match the evaluation.
