Wet-end acrylics
Acrylic Polymers in the Dyna range include acrylic-maleic copolymers for leather. In the dye-house they appear as liquid or powder syntans such as the maleic-acrylic grades in WET END - SYNTANS (Liquids). They fill empty areas, keep grain fine, and improve wet-toggling on upholstery. Lightfastness is a reason to choose an acrylic retan over some vegetable extracts on pale articles.
Finishing binders
Aqueous polyacrylate dispersions in Finishing - Binders form the film in impregnation and base coat. Film softness and tack are graded: a very soft low-tack binder is not the same as a slightly tacky fine-particle impregnation binder. Solids (often around 20–37% depending on grade) and pH belong on the TDS. Binders are not lacquers; nitrocellulose tops and wax emulsions sit on top of the acrylic season.
Specify the article (shoe upper, upholstery, garment), whether the leather is full grain or corrected, and whether a polyurethane dispersion will be blended. A spray-out on the customer crust is the approval, not a viscosity number alone.
